Table 4.2 displays values of the index ofinterregional differentiation of living standards in accordance with thesethree functions.

Visual differences of the three indices wehave built are insignificant. Moreover, mean-squared deviations of one indexfrom another make: 2,42 for φ6 and φ5, 3,19for φ6 and φ22, 5,55 for φ5 andφ22. In case the objects are ranked in accordance with indices set bythe functions we have built, the mean deviation in object numbers set byφ6 and φ5 is equal to 3,3; φ6 andφ22 makes 2,3; φ5 and φ22 is 3,5.In the first case 76 objects have the same position; in the second case 113, inthe third case 83. Only 51 of 383 objects keep their positions in all threerankings. It is an evidence that the indicator is significantly sensitive toerrors in measurement.


4.1.2. Indicator of regional investmentactivity

The information collected across the regionsof Russia (excluding the Chechen and Ingush Republics, and autonomous entitieswithin larger regions) in 1995 through 1999 was used as initial data.Therefore, we have 390 objects, which in terms of the degree of investmentactivity are characterized by three indicators, i.e. N = 390, n = 3.
